Ok, I'm convinced, I've been looking for a new chest protector and I think this string of posts seals the deal. Emailing today to pick one up.

You will love it and you will want to show everyone like I do!!!

i would love one. Are they all custom made???? I currently wear a WVP, and love it. The douglas looks bulkier, and I can only assume a bit warmer. Any input from you Douglas Afficianados???

It is awesome, and when you get hit by an 90+ foul out fast ball the catcher will ask you if your ok and you can say "I didn't feel a thing!" like I do!!!

Just found my Douglas receipt from 1994. One Douglas WV, $150. Shipped $10.00. Interesting, 6% increase (Douglas is now $160 I believe) in 18 years not too bad...

They were selling them for $100 before they stopped making them a couple years ago.

My Douglas has arrived, i see why it's bullet-proof although I'm not totally happy. I should have improved the strap for one, but that's not that big of a deal. What does concern me is that it's very tight around the neck and to get it tightened down enough to keep it from slipping it's nearly impossible to get on and off.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Mine was a bit tight around the better but it has conformed over time and now its better. Someone else told me that for a proper fit it should be hard to get on and off. :shakehead:

The Double D is going on it maiden voyage tonight. Temp is going to be low to mid-90's by game time at 6:00 so we'll see if it's cooler. I got all the fitting issues ironed out and it's pretty comfortable.

I rotate mine w/ my All Star, and this weekend took a shot right to the newly added appelet gap protection ....literally didn't feel a thing! AND ...the coach for the VT told his F2 to request time out even! :D

Used the DD tonight, I think this is a cooler rig. We had a good breeze blowing in and I was much cooler. Felt comfortable and secure, it's very low profile. I think it's a keeper.
