NB450 vs. 460

Was contacted by New Balance at 9:00 AM (Eastern) and was told to ship back the shoes and they would be glad to give me a replacement. Said the process takes 2-3 weeks.  I'm fine with that now being that I'm still more than three weeks away from my the year's first association meeting and about two months away from working the first scrimmage.

I was going to replace my Spot-Bilts (yes I said Spot-Bilts) with 460's this year, but I am now having second thoughts.

 

LOVE the SB shoes.

I have the 460's and love them. I had the 450's previously...I like the light weight and the ease of movement in them. They run true to length and are D width, which for me is like putting your foot in shoe that is 2 feet wide...narrow feet are the worst!

Even with the problem I experienced, they are still fantasic shoes.  Plus, these are the official shoes for MLB and a lot of the umpires wear them.  Can't imagine they would be wearing them if they were uncomfortable.

 

The only reason I would have had for switching would have been New Balance telling me they wouldn't replace my shoes.  I couldn't justify spending $100+ again if they wouldn't help me out because of a flaw in a certain number of these shoes.  Their customer service and willingness to replace the shoes tell me they really stand behind their product.

Pete Peterson...extremes on either side are hard to find. When I buy dress shoes it Johnston & Murphy or Allen Edmonds...neither of which are cheap.

Just received an email from New Balance.  They received my shoes and sent out a pair of replacement shoes today.  Will receive them in 7-10 days.  Even allowed me to change from the 460MBK to the 460MBW.  Very happy with the process.
