Just read this thread and I can see how this is faster. It is adding a true up drop step to a pivot on your left foot. I noticed too that with this mechanic ther is not that short time when you're almost turned backward to first. I'm going to give this a try today, if scrimmage doesn't rain out.

I still don't see this.......maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Just seems easier to step towards line with right foot and pivot on left while in B position.

by jab stepping towards the 45 you get a better angle on the play at first. Its quicker and helps especially with lefties and righties with a good move.

As I am now an old man in umpire age, I can say this is an easy thing to do. But after 30 years of doing it with the left foot first, it takes a while to get the hang of it.

Maybe I was just before my time but I have always stepped first with my right. I work a little shallower than most so all I have to do is turn. Therefore I step with my right toward the line and get a good look.
