Kyle...maybe I was not clear. I have the long Smitty tights. They just didn't hold the cup where I need it when down behind the plate. I wore them for everything worked and they finally developed holes in the legs on the inside of the thigh. I used last season the McDavids as a base and pulled the Smitty's over the TOP when I went behind the plate to protect my legs from my guards. It's hard to find something that holds the cup low where we need it when we are behind the plate...

I wear a nutty buddy over several different brands of long tights (UA, McDavid, Strongem) all work equally well. I get more compression from the mcdavids than the other brands.

When I am not wearing my Nutty Buddy I just wear a jock with a cup over the tights. Never been a fan of wearing two pairs of rights or using a cup pocket. The jock always keeps it in place for me, but I wear the nutty buddy most of the time.

I ordered some of the nitty buddy branded supporters this year and they do a better job keeping the NB in place than anything else I have used.

A lot of people don't like the Nutty Buddy, but it does not float at all and stays where it is supposed to.

I don't know how any long tights with a cup pocket wouldn't make the cup float. Your best bet is to just get a jock with a cup pocket and put tights over the TOP.

I also use the Nutty Buddy with different types of compression leggins and never had a problem with it moving. I do use the Nutty Buddy Jock with it.

"I don't always wear compression pants, but when I do I wear inexpensive brands. Stay cheap, my friends."

Compression pants come in a variety of flavors. I have worn Nike and UA compression pants, but I think that the brand name should be the least important part of the selection process (unless the company tells you to eff off. Wow!) Just like undershirts, one set of compression pants does not fit all occasions.

For hot weather, think moisture wicking. I like moisture wicking material that is thin and breathable, so the polyester Wal-Mart specials are my choice for around $12. Sometimes I will wear them in cooler weather as an extra layer.

For cold weather, I've found a heavier polyester blend pant at Marshalls: Layer 8 Base Layer for $16.99. It will still wick away moisture, but its main function is warmth during early season games. Polypropylene is great for cold weather, but it is overkill and bulky. [if I ever do a game in Antarctica, I'm packing polypro and my Majestic Therma Base Jacket]

Normally I prefer long Nike Pro Combat compression shorts and tall socks. The shorts come to my knee which prevents leg guard irritation. I get my compression shorts from Marshall's for $14.99.

I wear a Nutty Buddy over all of my compression gear. à chacun son goût

I use McDavid and have had nothing but good use from them. The floating cup works great and they offer a lot of support.

Go with the Under Armour heat gear.

I picked up the hyper warm leggings and turtlenecks last year. I couldn't understand everybody's raving about them - I was far more impressed with the UA cold gear

I wear a Nutty Buddy :yippie:

I wear compression shorts, then jock with Nutty Buddy and then compression tights over that.

I like my legs covered when on the plate for my shin guards.

As far as compression shorts or tights.

I just go to Target or Walmart and but the Starter or Champion ones they carry.

$10 a pair and I don't have a problem with them lasting.

They don't have cup pockets, but I don't need that with my Best Friend Nutty Buddy. :rock

I found Rawlings compression pants at Ross for $4. Bought every pair they had in my size (2). Wear them every game. They prevent chafing from shins, and rub rash in my nether regions. Great investment for $8! On the stick I wear shock doctor jock and cup over the leggings, and a pair of shorts over the jock. When it's cold, thermal underwear over the jock.
