Batter bunts. The ball goes right in front of home plate. BR hesitates a bit before running. F2 moves forward to get the ball the BR and F2 Collide. I cal INT on the BR since Fielder has all rights to the ball.

Was I correct?

This sound like a HTBT situation. OBR 7.09 l has a phrase in it that states that....When a catcher and batter runner going to first base have contact when the catcher is fielding the ball, there is generally no violation and nothing should be called. I think the question you need to ask is .....was his intention to interfere or did he simply hesitate for who knows what reason? If it was intentional call him out for interference and if it wasn't, let it play out.

One thing I ask myself in situations like this is " Who is doing what"

In this case they are both doing what they're supposed to be doing: the BR is trying to get to first and the catcher is trying to field the ball. Absent intent on either part you probably have nothing.

A good thing to do when you have a situation when there is "incidental contact" is to give the safe signal and loudly say, "That's nothing!"

I don't know obr (as well as I should) but during a fed game the old war-horses in my neck of the woods would refer to this as a "no-call" since nothing (I am guessing) was intentionalmalicious or gained.

Had this happen to me last season, r1 rounding first tripped over the bag, fell into f3 who was standing in the baseline and took the two of them out htbt. f3 wasn't involved in the play and r1 won't be getting 2nd on an extra... "no call" according to my veteran partner.
