FYI , on the midwestump.blogspot (think thats right) he tested four CP , one was the champion P200 . his review was very favorable for the P200. an interesting fact he made was that the wilson platnium measures 1.25 " total thickness , and the P200 measured 1.4 " thickness . small differences no doubt . i dont believe he measured plastic plate thickness . but total CP thickness . as far as i know this is the only un-biased testing that i have read anywhere . BTW he also gives the on-line site for the best price on the P200 . maybe i just took the 1in100,000 shot just in the right place to cause the "dent" and small crack . we wouldnt be having this talk if the catcher had did his job . you know, use the mitt to catch

You know, this probably wouldn't happen so much if they'd just let us bring lead pipes with us when we get behind the catcher. That way we can tell the catcher, "I dare you to miss it!"

Man I hated that thing growing up. The only thing we got to use it for was bunting drills, and it had a rediculously off center weight in order to swing it. It was absolutely nothing like swinging a real bat.

We used it for hand/eye drills using golf ball-size Wiffle balls. If you can square a golf ball with a pipe, squaring a baseball with a bat is relatively easy.

That's what I used it for when I coached girls fastpitch. It actually has more of a feel for girls fastpitch than for baseball. As wierd as it sounds, at 24, I still remember broom sticks and bottle caps. My favorite was rocks with a wiffle ball bat, though my dad hated it because I would hit the rocks into his fields.

The "Ole FUNGO!" nothing stinks of tradition like seeing a pu enter the field in a beanie or one of the coaches warming up his defense with one of these babies. If memory serves these bats are all that coaches use to use around here back in the day because they were easy to swing, and produced a more "game like" pop-up to the outfield.

My dad used to buy one of those 50 cent bags of sunflower seeds, hand me this thing, stand about ten feet away, and toss them to me. decent hand-eye drill, I guess, because you never knew what the hell those little bastards were gonna do, but I bet I still looked like a jackass .

In my truck, I have an old wood bat I used to take BP with, and, on the advice of a guy I worked with last fall, my mask is always the last thing I put away. In his words, "That's your densest, hardest piece of equipment, and the easiest thing to swing at a mother:censored: if he's comin' at you." I like that idea :HS
