Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, and without prejudice or consideration, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the secular practices or religious persuasion of your choice, with respect for the secular/religious persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice secular or religious traditions at all; and also my wishes for a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2010, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make Scotland a great cultural mosaic, (not to imply that Scotland is necessarily a greater cultural mosaic than any other country or is the only nation with a cultural mosaic), and without regard to the gender, nationality, race, creed, colour, age, height, weight, intelligence, voting preference, physical ability, food preference, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

By accepting this greeting, you also accept and agree to these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher. The wisher accepts no responsibility for any unintended emotional and/or physical discomfort, disruption or stress these greetings may bring to those not subject to societally sanctioned or unsanctioned seasonal emotions, beliefs or traditions.

Both sides of this Merry Christmas PC debate are full of crap. So is the sometimes desperate defense of one's faith, or any faith. It's FAITH for crying out loud! What's the fighting and condemnation about? Why could anyone possibly care what everyone else believes? It's FAITH! Have it or don't have it. Believe what you believe and if others are of a different belief, then they are allowed the freedom to do so, just like you are.

This whole PC social consciousness is laughable. Jackie Robinson and Jessie Owens faced death threats and universal abuse to open the door for generations of black people. Then some insignificant bigot like Don Imus pops off in the middle of the night on some nowhere radio show, calling some black female athletes "nappy haired hoes," and they're scarred for life and ready to fold the tent on their basketball careers. Embarrassing wusses.

The P.C. generation is being raised as complete wusses. You can't even coach a team or teach a class or run a business anymore. Everyday life here is getting needlessly and significantly more difficult, and the way we prepare the next generation is to make them into wusses. Beautiful.

Oh, and a MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

Michael,

No matter where someone stands on the PC Divide, if they can't laugh at this, well then they just need a little valium. This is just hillarious.

Priceless

I understand wha you are saying. I posted this because it is a parody of being PC.

And I overwhelmingly agreed with you and your presenting it, and just responded with about all of the pent-up dissatisfaction that I have for this issue of having to soften the traditional greeting so that is less offensive to some than the words "Merry" and "Christmas."

I suppose every mature, sensible person agrees with us. Sorry I sounded a little personal, when I was being general.
