They need an umpire in the booth to tell the announcers to STFU and then issue beatings when they propagate myths. Then actually help the announcers, casual fans and coach dads learn a thing or two. I'm available for hire.

As I mentioned elsewhere, the ball was thrown to the ball girl, who gave it to a fan. Once she touched it, it became interference by someone authorized on the field. Umpires get to play God at this point.
