My goal is to one day make it to Omaha. To get there I've just got to keep thinking about how I can improve each and every game.

Will I ever make it there? Probably not, but I've got to have a goal to shoot for and I'm young enough that even if it takes 15-20 years I still have a shot if I can continue to progress.

Omaha, absolutely. This is my long term goal. Along with that, I want to be a state tournament umpire. I keep throwing little hints or jokes to my wife about going to the Jim Evans academy and try my hand at that. I know the odds of umpires getting selected to work pro ball but either way you come out of a school like that a better umpire.

I'm planning on taking the college test this fall. I don't have a specific goal, but I every time a get positive feedback from a respected source, my ambition rears up and I start thinking of where I can go.

I'd be happy with D2/D3/JUCO on top of HS.

I don't currently call college but am attending a clinic in September (Mid-American in Springfield, Mo) so Omaha is probably out of the question.

That said last year I called the Big League Baseball World Series (Little League 17-18yr) in Easley, SC. My next goal is the LLWS in Williamsport.

Hey all,

I will start HS next year, hopefully semi-pro and college not long after that. Then we'll see where it goes from there.

So far, I have umpired LL, BR, a men's adult league, and a couple of Triple Crown Sports baseball tournaments under modified Fed rules.

My mother Lives in Easley and I was there last year during the WS I saw 2 games.

Being that I just started umping this year, I would be happy at being very good at what ever level I can. Big picture... maybe college some day. I am going to have to make a trip south of the border to see how you guys do it.

NCAA DII is my goal; I'd be happy getting games at that level.

That's about it - I can't imagine getting beyond that level, due to my age (50) and I'd be pushing 60 in order to get the experience necessary to go beyond DII.

Don't sell yourself short. You may be surprised about getting there a bit quicker.

Well, thanks very much for the kind words.

I suppose the other thing about D-1 games (for someone in my location) is that a great deal of travel would be required, as there are very few D-1 schools here that have baseball.

But, we'll see - I plan to take it as far as I can.

I have called anything and everything that my assignors threw my way from all levels of Pony League, Adult League, JV, Varsity, Summer League, Legion, AAU & MSBL & some limited D3 experiences. I worked the PONY World Series in 2003.

The joke at one time was that I only called games if the ball was white with red stitches.......which pretty much ruled nothing out.

My umpiring goal is to transistion to more of an NCAA D-3 umpire schedule.

My goal is to do better baseball and less bad baseball............and god knows I've done plenty of bad baseball........

as to education, I am hoping to attend an Evans Classic this year..........although I would love it, I will never get to attend the full 5 week pro school.....at my age and responsiblity level, 5 weeks is to much for me to swing..
