Gold vs Platinum

OK I don't know if this has ever been a thread before but I am throwing this out there for any and all to respond.

It's my version of product research.

I will be buying a new CP. Based on my age and years left on the field this will be the last CP I will buy. So it's either the West Vest Gold or Platinum.

I want opinions on WV Gold vs Platinum your choice and why.

I tried them both, and this is what I’ve found:

The Gold sits a little better under your shirt: the Platinum gives you that “linebacker” look, and a little tough to get your shirt on over it.

The Platinum covers a little more over the top of your shoulder: if you use the GD stance or scissors, it’ll protect you if you get sloppy and don’t get your butt down. (Found this out the other day with my Gold: Instant Eval courtesy of West Vest Inc.)

I’ve taken Varsity fastballs to my Gold, with no problems : you know you’ve been drilled, but forget about it by the next batter.

Uhhh....only about six times this year.

I have the Gold and have tried the platinum.

The padding on the Gold is a bit thicker and I also had better/easier arm movement with the Gold.

But either way you will not go wrong with either.

If at all possible, try them both on and cinch 'em up just like you would for a game.

Then decide what you like best.

The gold fits me much better since it is sized based on your coat size. I had the platinum and it kept slipping down but the gold stays in place.

I think that the problem with the platinum slipping mainly affects smaller people who can't get it tight enough. I know a couple people who are bigger than me that have the platinum and it stays in place for them.

I just did a search on "platinum" and got 43 results, seems like search works just fine. If you are on the "new posts" page then search is somewhat non-functional (since that is actually a search result page), but from the home screen search seems to work fine.

You are both right. Depending on which browser you are using and where you are in the site, search may or may not work. I apologize for the inconvenience. There are some errors build into this design which is a free one I down loaded because I thought it looked cool.

The good news is, and I haven't changed my auto insurance since my first policy when I turned 16... The newest version of Umpire-Empire is in production and thus far there are no such issues everything is completely XHTML & CSS compliant. Load times are fast and there are a number of new/enhanced features. Right now my target date for launching the new site is Jan 1. The site will look different, be re-arranged a bit for easier, more organized viewing.

I'm really interested in your comments about what you'd like to see in the site. I have a thread opened up here http://www.umpire-empire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13221
