DeMuth's Chest Protector ... Does anyone know the brand or type he was wearing? It appeared to be a Honigs K1 only with thicker sections???

I thought it was a precurser to the West Vest. I can't think of who made it but I think it's old.

It appears to be the same as Gerry Davis's, just black instead of gray. Once again it looked new. Possibly the Riddell Power if it's older, but it doesn't look it. The black showed more of a glare like it was a hardshell. But no markings.

Wednesday if Joe West is wearing it we know it is something new from Wilson/Joe West.

That's what I was thinking - that he'd borrowed Gerry Davis' - it looked the same!

I thought it looked the same too Brian, and I also thought maybe it was a Riddell, but it seems from an earlier post maybe not.

I thought Everitt looked like a walking Wilson billboard! :confused: Not bashing him or the product, ....but....it's just .....well, how many "W's" can you have on your face and chest:agasp_:

Maybe he should try and make some real money and get the W tattooed on his forehead. I've seen it done!

Well, of course Wilson has the contract w/ the umpires, so if I were their marketing guy, I'd be putting that 'W' everywhere, too. No different than Reebok putting the MLB logo on their shoes. It's all about logo placement, which leads to product recognition.

Just heard back from GDSports, and Gerry Davis had on an old Riddell Power, and DD's looked similar, probably the same one ....
