Week 3 is here and I actually found it hard to find a lot of good games worth picking, but here I go.

Game of the Week

Nebraska @ Virginia Tech

This was a great game last year and will prove the same. VT won on the road last year and this year they are home. Nebraska will be over-powered, but it will be a great game.

Virginia Tech Wins

Upset Special &

Obligatory ECU Pick

ECU goes to Chapel Hill (or as we say in North Cackalacky - Chappa Heel) This will be a great test for both ECU's Defense and UNC's Offence. UNC is becoming a SEC style defense much like Virginia Tech, but hasn't produced offensively. ECU Has also been a defensive powerhouse, but hasn't lived up to expectations yet. This will be the key to the game which ever decides to break out will win the game. On the flip side of the coin UNC's strong defense is probably going to do a good job controlling Pinkney as he hasn't performed that well the past 2 weeks.

UNC wins

So why is this the upset special? Because it upsets me to call it. :crybaby2:

Georgia Tech @ Miami

I'm not sure if this game will live up to the hype. GT is looking good this year and Miami is over-rated.

Georgia Tech Wins

Boston College @ Clemson

Since BC joined the ACC this has always been a really good game to watch. The teams seem to match up pretty well. While BC usually beats Clemson, Clemson is just a stronger team this year. Add to that they're playing in Death Valley.

Clemson Wins

Tennessee @ Florida

I don't know why Kiffen has tried to talk smack about this game and vow to end Tennessee's losing streak, maybe he thought Tebow was going to take that week off??? This has been a much hyped game, but it won't be much of a competition.

Florida pounds Tennessee

Michigan State @ Notre Dame

Another game for Notre Dame which even if your not a fan of either school you can appreciate this game and the rivalry. I think ND is going to bounce back and play harder than they did last week when they were able to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Notre Dame wins

ND/Michigan ST is a who cares game. It sounds like a lose/lose for ND. If they win, everybody says they should have. If they lose everybody says they are overrated. The "experts " will pput them in a bowl game anyway which they will suck in.

I actually heard something once about a possible Notre Dame Bowl...

But they will get a Bowl somewhere if they are even at .500

Good week for me going 4/5.

My game of the week turned out to be a killer game with VT squeaking it out at the very end. The way VT played it gives me a shimmer of hope for ECU. VT now hosts Miami in what will be a make or break for both teams.

Yes, UNC beat ECU, but the game wasn't as lopsided as the score shows. It was a good game. I won't make any negative comments about the officiating, but the announcers were the biggest homers I bet you could find for an ESPN2 game. I just wanted to reach through my TV and slap them. The only comments they made for ECU were ones regarding some of the questionable calls. Pinkney showed some glimmers of hope, but ECU's offensive line is what caused them to lose the game. ECU now starts the heart of their conference schedule. While I know these were two tough losses for the Pirates, these games are the ones which determine which bowl game you get and it looks like the will be on their way to a second tier bowl.

Miami over GT. Okay where did Miami come from and are they for real? I ask because Florida State was over rated when they beat them so it wasn't that big of an upset in my mind. They then Beat GT. My question now is is Miami that good? I asked that question last week about BYU and got my answer, they're not. I don't think I'll get a definitive answer this week either. VT has yet to show they know what to do with the football they need an offense to be a real contender. They have yet to show up on the offensive side of the ball.

Florida beat Tennessee. No big surprise in the win, but Tennessee did hold their own. It wasn't the blow out I was expecting. Has a soft spot been found in the armor of Florida? One thing is for sure Alabama and Georgia got an eyeful in watching that game.

ND pulled one out against Mich St. I thought ND would have done better, but a win is a win.

Other Week 3 thoughts.

I've stated for years that USC just gets high rankings because of their name. The PAC-10 as a whole is overrated, but there are just so many media folks that live in that area their perspective is lost. While I'm surprised that it was Washington which brought the west coast football idol down I didn't think they were for real compared to SEC and Big 12 teams.

I got my answer when I asked is BYU for real, and just as I expected they're not. Now to get and answer to two new questions. Is Miami for real and was Georgia Tech over-rated? It may be a little while. While they both Play ranked teams this week, neither of the ranked teams have turned it on to show why their ranked.

Guys circle your calendar for Halloween! Two of the best College football games of the year Georgia vs Florida and Texas vs Oklahoma St.
