Hey all. I joined a few weeks ago but have had some computer trouble. I have been umpiring for 5 years now and love it. I went to California for the annual MLBUC in November and soaked in massive amounts of knowledge. I plan to attend umpire school in January. I have learned some important tips already from this forum and look forward to learning more from you guys to continue to get better.

Welcome!! Good to see we have a good presence here on the boards while being the smallest "state" (USA :smachhead:).

If you would be willing I would love to get together so I could pick your brain about the info you learned. I can show you some Parker Kenpo in return. :rofl:

You are a kenpoist? What rank are you? Both my son's are black belts.

Thanks for the welcomes boys. I will start a MLBUC thread on what was covered. Im leaning towards the Wendelstedt school but I am looking for any input on either school. Id be happy to get together and possibly work a game with you giixxershane if thats in the cards. I live on the West Warwick, Cranston, Coventry line and living in RI the whole state is only 45 minutes away so theres no drive to long to work a game. I assign Coventry little league games and work games for Warwick Pal and Jr Legion games and hoping to get Sr Legion games in the area but I am always looking for more games.

The younger is 15, the older 20. They are both youth blacks, neither finished out after a point. The younger went three degrees on his youth belt. The older as seventh on his youth. He was three from being full black, college got in his way. He was a in the American Kenpo system. One of his original instructors was a fifth that trained under Parker at one point.

I do games for cranston american right now. Im always looking to spend more time on the field.. I live in woonsocket, but work in warwick.

if ya need any one for the little league.. :) i can shoot ya a pm with my phone number and info..

I have only done LL baseball for the past two years... i do want to get involved in higher level's of baseball.. I did ice hockey for 3 years, if that counts for anything..

Our little league season just ended but i will have some 10 and 11 yr old all star games at the end of the month so send me a message and we can go from there. I played hockey my whole life growing up for Edgewood and then i played in high school, Im interested in learning to officiate hockey. Go Bruins!!!!

verry cool! I train in the full parker system 24 techniques per belt, all sets and forms:) its a nother passion of mine and gives me a little confidence leaving the field after a game:BD:
