  1. I have been seeing more guys in the pros wearing the All-Star FM4000. I have heard many good things i.e lightweight, durable, comfortable to wear. However, I have also heard many negative things about the mask i.e sparks fly when you get hit, the upper bar does not extend far enough out leaving umpires vulnerable. I know I have seen some guys wearing a matte skull cap with it. I like many of the positives but am concerned about some of the negatives. Two things: I am interested to hear what everyone's thoughts are about the mask Have you found anything that backs up or disputes the cons of the mask? Thanks guys!
  2. Not a fan of the Pads in general for the IX3. I replaced mine with Team Wendy and love the pads

  6. Got a question that is tripping me up. Om my test it is Number 22. It reads: R1, no outs. Batter attempts a bunt that rolls foul down the first base line. As the ball is about to stop rolling, the batter kicks the ball in disgust. The umpire is certain the ball would not have rolled fair. a. Batter is ejected. b. The batter is out. c. Foul ball. d. R1 is out for the batter's interference I have the batter being out (Answer B) per rule 7-11-h Note " If while attempting to advance to first base, the batter-runner intentionally deflects the ball, the batter-runner is declared out, the ball is dead and all runners return. I feel that this rule conflicts with 7-11-o which reads "after hitting or bunting a foul ball, the batter-runner intentionally deflects the course of the ball that has a chance of becoming fair... The ball is dead, the batter is out, and no runner may advance.

  8. @Matt are you having any issues with the video? I play the Intro and it stops 1 second short of completion and then restarts.
  9. Thanks @Matt
  10. Sounds good, is there a certain division meeting I should attend, or do I do all of them?
  11. @Matt Most of the games will be at the NAIA level I would assume, however, I am a CBUA member. Would I select D3 as that is what the NAIA Level I would be working? Appreciate your help!
  12. It is my first year as an NCAA umpire. Is the online clinic mandatory? from my understanding, it looks like it is only if you want to be postseason eligible.
  13. I wear two for two reasons. It bugs me to have weight only on one side of my body, and for nothing more than symmetry.
  14. I am 6'6 and am starting out doing some JUCO baseball. While doing HS and Legion ball, I used a p200 17in. It's a great cp and when a Umplife 360 harness is added, it is a really nice setup. I just got a Wilson Platinum 13 In for Christmas. It is about 3.5 inches too short. I am having our local shoe repair person add a strong pad extension. I will post pics on here when it is done.
