I guess I'm glad I'm in WI and I have a few months to decide on my new protector. I did a few higher level games where the boys were throwing well. Definitely need better protection. I'll wait on the guinea pigs to give their reviews.

I have the diamond dmf aluminum with black tw pads and a Spyder throat guard. Love this mask.

I don't grant time if the pitcher is in motion. If it's just before the pitch starts his motion I will.

Why does it seem to fit so weird in the compression shorts? Especially with my evapor or heat gear leggings over. Is their a trick I'm missing? Is the jock more comfortable?

Ground ball to F6. Throws to 1st for the out. Mom from batting team yells, 'of course he's out. We never get a call, but he would be safe If he played for the other team'. It wasn't even a close play. Next inning I was talking to HPU and then started back to my A position when the 1st base coach says blue can I walk with you. I said sure. As we walked he complimented me and said I was doing a great job. I looked back over my shoulder and said "but.." and before I could finish he stopped me and said "please ignore our wives. We do." Haha.

That mask is so cool. Not sure how you are behind the plate, but at least you'll look good.

Boeheim was upset, because just a bit eatlier in the game the officials called it the other way against him. The call was right. The earlier call was way wrong. Not a Syracuse fan. Just clarifying. I don't mind ejecting people. It's their choice not mine. I almost never have to though.

I believe he means the ball came up under his mask and a protector would have prevented that. I bought one for both my masks. I just thought it was odd and unsafe at that level.

I'm watching the Brewers/Cubs spring training game. The home plate umpire doesn't have a throat guard on. How recommended is it to have one, and wouldn't it be recommended in the Majors considering the speeds and movement of the pitches?

It was. It wasnt going to be, but it was pretty heavy, so I decided to start from scratch and do more homework on my mask. Now I have my preferred rig. Although the second one is definitely groupie sexy. I really think my first one looks tough.

My secondary mask. Fm 25 frame, wilson two tone grey/black wrap around pads, allstar magnesium throat guard and sunvisor. Sometimes I'll put the spyder on this setup too. Depends on what the groupies want. This is a heavy rig so I don't wear it often.

Here is my main mask. Diamond silver Dfm with team wendy pads, Spyder throat guard, and sunvisor.

I have wide feet and I'm buying my first pair of plate shoes. I have to do it online, because I can't find anywhere in the Milwaukee area that stocks them..I like the looks of the reeboks, but it sounds like the NB 460's will be more suited for me. Do I order larger on my size on any of them? I appreciate the help.

I priced everything separate on the mask and it came out less to buy it there. I think. Not tw pads, but the wrap arounds rated high.

I just bought one on ebay. The wilson f25 with the black and grey wrap around pads. Like the one pro umpire uses. Looked so awesome.i say pro umpire because I forgot his name but he uses tbe grey pads. I took a few off the face with my cheap mask last year. Not fun. I bought the platinum west vest last year. Huge difference. Im still interested in the mask, but it may be a week or 2. Do you do the wire throat protectors?

I'm very new to umping. Last year I used a cheap mask. Not fun on some of the foul tips. What do you get normally for your masks. I don't have anything to trade. The fm4000, I believe on the top right looks pretty tough. How light is it, and is it hard to get a harness and can I just use my harness from my cheap mask?
