  1. Oh? Is that so?
  2. We have cookies. Welcome to the boards.
  3. I would love to have that plate on my mantle.
  4. My league has a pitching limit of 8 innings per week and no more than 4 per game.
  5. 21 games over the next 9 days. I love my association!!! :)

  6. I think that it hit the nail on the head for youth leagues but for HS maybe a little too far.
  7. Sounds good to me. Especcially since he yelled it.
  8. My games were much better tonight.

  9. I agree with Jocko. From what it sounds like, the catcher made the tag legally and then decided to shove the runner. I would have the out stand but the catcher will be given the hook.
  10. Is anybody going to let that go?!!? And it's not a history, it was ONE GUY. Nope.
  11. I had the game of my deepest, darkest nightmares tonight. I was PU and I just couldn't find my strikezone if it had big flashing neon edges. I saw a picture my mentor took of me and my mechanics were the same as every game but I still couldn't get it right. There were several bangers on the field and at the plate and every single one of them got one side or the other furious at either me or my partner. I had a called strike three that I actually got right but the 10 year old batter screamed at me saying it was right there. (6 inches off the plate). I knew that I should've thrown him to the moon for it but I froze up. Thank God for the time limit otherwise I may have had a full out riot on my hands. I asked for a safety escort from my supervisor to get me to my car. UGH!!!
  12. Welcome.
  13. I worked my first solo game and had this play happen. I was behind the plate with R1. The B/R lined a rocket to f4 who got hit with hit but it rolled to the F6 who was covering the base. I was positioned on the 3rd base side of the mound and I got screened by the sliding R1 but I thought I saw the f6 tag the base. So I banged the out. Where should I have been positioned?
  14. If he was preparing to throw to second yes I would have INT on this.
  15. Worked my first solo game today. It went well with no major complaints.

  16. Very few people like to eat their pride and ask for and take advice.
  17. Fantastic. Hopefully you will get more calls from them.
  18. Good luck.
  19. Relax and have fun out there. Don't suck.
  20. I just got home from calling the game of my life. 10u, I know, I know, just hear me out. They completed the entire 6 regulation innings in just under 1:40 in a 1:50 time limit. I was on the bases working with a umpire who was working his first game behind the plate. His strike zone was amazing and very consistent. It helps when the pitchers are throwing near perfect baseball for their age. I had several bangers on the bases but did well. Didn't hear a peep from the coaches throughout the entire game. Final score was 3-2 won in the bottom of the 6th on a error during a run down. All of this on my Opening day. I can't wait for the rest of the season. I love baseball.
  21. I agree with noumpere.
  22. Yes. It is a two way road. Just like a coach that argues that a ball should be a strike and one that argues that a strike should be a ball. They both get ejected if they argue long enough.
  23. As an umpire I only talk to one coach at a time on a play like this. Once I'm finished with one I will allow the other to ask questions.

WildFlyer. Stop throwing cheap shots at Rich on every single thread you see him on. As I recall umpires aren't supposed to hold grudges.
