  1. Rich, Your rules knowledge is great, however, the max length you stated is not true for Junior, Senior, and Big league Softball. The rule is not more than 34" max length and 2 1/4" max diameter. Tom
  2. Blue, Try this, I do not know if it will still work, Put the shoes in the cart, under the discount code put in the word DAD, and see if it give you a discount. Tom P.S. I just checked and the Fathers Day Promotion is still in affect. The price with the promo is $79.95 and free shipping. If you register, you get an additional discount for the first purchase. Tom
  3. Blue23, I do not know what your price range is, however, I just purchased a pair of New Balance MU450MK shoes from shoebuy.com for $71.60 shipped. I received 20% off and an extra for registering with them, plus FREE shipping. You might check their web site. I was looking for the Reeboks, but nobody has my shoe size right now. I hope this helps you, Tom
  4. This is funny, this is the first post by Brian. Read the last line( which I have bolded and underlined). It took a while for someone to actually post the wording. Thanks for the good postings everyone. Tom
  5. MajorDave, I see that Majordave has logged in, I hope you are back, if so: Welcome back. You have been missed. I hope you are doing fine. Tom Ellis
  6. The BASE Ump was wearing a BALL BAG on the field?:o
  7. I am late to the party, but here is my take on this discussion. The batters attempt to avoid the ball is that he did NOT swing at the ball. He gets first for the HBP. Tom
  8. Tommy, Tell us how the game turned out and Who won. Tom Albuquerque
  9. The above in red is the correct rule, I blew the wording saying that the second player is done for the game. All of them can be switched in and out after all have met MPR, which is 3 CONSECUTIVE outs and 1 at bat. Sorry for the confusion. Tom
  10. Larry, The above about the starter and subs with an X through their position does not work in AS/LL tournaments. Once the starter and their sub have met MPR, they can be switched in and out throughout the rest of the game. If a second sub is used, then the first sub is the one that is ineleigible for that game. Remember, the starter and any subs are LOCKED into the batting order that the starter started in, subs cannot sub for any other starter. As per the OP, I put a small x next to the pitcher for visits, Circle the jersey number of the player that has had a SPR, change the fielding number for the players (mainly the pitcher and catcher). I hope others chime in as to their tracking. Thanks, Tom
  11. Brian, This sounds like it could be a lingering effect. Tom

    Is it CI?

If the batter is attempting to hit the ball and hits the catchers glove call CI. If the batter is on a follow through swing and contacts the catchers glove, do not call CI. Can you tell me that you can determine that the ball is not still at the bat the split second it takes a batter to a swing at the ball, contact the ball, and then contact the catchers glove? How do you know that the ball was not going to go fair if the bat did not contact the glove? These are ALL HTBT situations. If the ball is already gone from the area, then yes you do not have CI, but if the ball is still there, then it is CI. This is why the difference of your 4 and 5 above. Tom
  13. Ump Rube, I have the Wilson Hard Shell Umpire Chest Protector A3217, which is a step below the Platinum CP. Tom
  14. I do not have the Platinum, however I use the Clorox wipes to clean my CP after every game. I have not noticed any bad odors from it. Tom
