  1. for your flopping point: it has worked before in the playoffs.
  2. I don't like it. A 9 inning can just be so much different than a 7 inning game. I liked playing in legion playoffs much more than high school playoffs.
  3. Did they blow this call in the Cubs Nats game? Situation: dropped third strike but the batter swung through and hit the catcher in the mask slightly. Cubs eventually scored a run and the batter runner advance down to second on a bad throw.

    Burn out

cool, like I said above I'm still in college studying civil.
  5. how was it out of the defined playing field if it was below the defined yellow line
  6. yep, Baez does it all the time.

    Burn out

Ah, cool. I'm currently a sophomore studying civil. Hope to be able to have a job and still umpire on the side when the time comes.

    Burn out

do you happen to be in civil engineering?
  9. I'd say a line would be if the player is gesturing to the opposing dugout after an extra base hit, but I've never really seen that. I'm far from a college umpire, but I would say to let it go if it's directed towards their own dugout.
  10. bad press for him? you think the president coming out and saying that he's a son of a bitch is bad press for Kaepernick? You're right in that the "real issue" of police brutality and racism isn't getting as much attention, but that's only because it has morphed into a talking point that an anthem protest is "un-American" or "disrespecting the troops"
  11. Yes, unless there is a reason to have it become dead. Often in MLB you will have a player request time to give a base coach his shin guard back on an extra base hit, or a pitcher wanting a new ball after a recorded out. Obviously, it doesn't really matter if there is no one on base.
  12. Yet the only player to kneel in major league baseball was a catcher making the league minimum with less than a year of service time...

  14. https://www.mlb.com/video/sogard-turns-dp-after-review/c-1844189183?tid=63817564 Agree with out of his baseline call on R1? Is there anything the home plate umpire should have done better in regards to positioning? (Besides have F2 make a better tag)
  15. It would have looked cooler if he didn't run into Lindor.
  16. Donaldson noticed, and looked up the rule!

    Foul tip?

ball is coming in straight, then moves to the left. Don't think contreras is going to whiff on a fastball. Plus, Souza clearly thinks something happened and turned around. You can also listen to sound here

    Foul tip?

you tell me. I'd say no. This was ruled as strike 3 in the game.

    Foul tip?

  20. I can answer your first question. The top of the fence is within play. (Both Comerica Park and the G-Rate don't have any ground rules regarding this)

    Scoring Question

officially I believe that this is ruled a FC and the shortstop gets the putout. It's interesting to note that in baseball rules if your grounder simply hit your teammate you would be credited with a single, but since he committed interference you get a FC.
  22. OBR has the catcher's collision rules in a different section than obstruction.
  23. yes, I said it was an awful decision by happ to go towards third- but it's his call not and not the third base coaches
