It looks like Vic Carapazza and Alan Porter are getting some decent call up time too. Not bad for your first year as a call up.
-
It's probably because when they started it was an accepted stance that they liked and were comfortable with. I personally use the scissors stance every once in a while. I modify it however to make it look a like Lance Barksdale's stance. I find it extremely comfortable so that might be one reason. Barksdale worked the plate today in San Francisco if anyone wants to check out his stance.

Not a bad idea. If the new stuff is as good as the new system 7 mask it should be really nice.

For me I would really like a low profile triple knee shin guard. I have had a lot of trouble finding a pair that's slim enough to fit under my pants and can still offer a decent amount of protection. Toe protection isn't necessary if you have good plate shoes however ankle protection is nice. One thing that's really nice is about the GD shinguards is the strapping. The velcro straps are really nice. I think if there was one extra strap on top of the guard it would reduce the twisting and turning. My hockey shin guards have the same strap system and I can't go out on the ice without taping them for fear and annoyance of them moving out of place while I'm on the ice. So, in conclusion, my dream shin guard would be a low profile, triple knee shin guard with well placed velcro straps.

If the Phillies are smart they'll at least fine Werth.

I use dove. I would imagine almost anything works.

With the new shoes coming your going to have to add spray bottle to clean the shoes. Also hair spray to give it a good shine. Other than that the stuff looks really good.

Are you sure the coach wasn't Wally Backman:BD:

I wish the little league I did games for treated me and the other kids that well.

I just wish I had done something about the laces before I went to my game.
-
I love mine. Nice and light. Your going to have to replace the laces though because they will break. That's the only problem with them though.
-
Any thoughts on them?

I meant helmet. Guess I wasn't really paying attention when I wrote that. My bad.
-
Brad, Do you know if it's possible to wear this helmet with a hat or would that be a problem?
-
I think the BU's were wearing the black smocks and the PU was wearing just a regular MLB light blue
-
Thanks, this helps a lot. I really appreciate the info. One thing I have to say about the helmet is that it's probably the nicest looking one I've seen.
-
Has anybody heard anything about these helmets yet? Watching the Yankee game today I saw C.B. Bucknor wearing one.
-
Joe West's site said that he's on the DL but maybe he retired b/c of it.
-
Rick Reed also retired.

Critter, From reading these types of things on the sites for a while, usually what they're saying is 100% accurate. Also it's not good to get on they're bad side arguing about something when they know that they're right because they won't be to happy to answer anymore of your questions in the future. JMO

I use one when playing hockey. I never really thought about wearing one for umping but it sounds like it would be a good idea at upper levels but i don't think anybody would really want to wear one as they mite get in the way for them.

Do you think that it is necessary to use plate pants with these? Thanks in advance.
