I will be 50 on 2-20-2012. so I am 49. So are you saying work out like hell now because in 5 months it all goes downhill????? Hee hee hee hee hee hee hee I am in my fifties, and I have a much less demanding workout regimen than yours (wait until you're 50, you'll be doing most of your exercises with rubber bands and a big inflatable ball ). But it is definitely my leg strength--and not my arms--that locks me in. I do some fairly light leg work (compared with yours), but I have some muscles left over from years of bicycling and a few years of boxing. So, I guess what we're saying is this: if you don't have the leg strength to lock in, then you need to rest your arms on your knees to lock in. I would do that if I'm tired and the pitchers are throwing 80 and under. At bone-shattering speeds, I am never too leg weary to lock in with my hands hidden.

One of the reasons you use your arms as part of the lock is because with legs only you have a tendency to sink with fatigue. You feel like you are the same height but you are actually lower than at the beginning. I agree that you have to be careful with how you lock your arms. It can be very loose but it really does need to be part of the stance. I don't use my arms to lock in. My legs do not get that fatigued either. I guess it is because I do 6 sets of 15 reps of squats with about 185 lbs. Then 10 set of 10 -12 reps of leg extensions starting at 200 lbs. Thats 1/2 of my leg workout. I would see one would get tired without working out. Also I am going on 2 years of working out! I have built up to the level I am at. Don't just jump in and try to do the same workout. Seek professional advice.

Why would you do that if its only his players getting confused? I thought we are here to be fair to both teams not one or the other because of the coaches. In youth "daddy coach" ball I have found you have to have some leeway. At least in my area daddy coaches aren't the sharpest tool in the shed. Older boys I agree.

Well to be fair I would probably have verbal interference. I would call lead runner out. Return r2 and r1. Return batter back to bat. Wouldn't be the best solution but I would think it would be the fairest. jmo

Well if he is a vet and not to hurt his feelings. I would tell him, politely, that I had the game management. If he doesn't get the hint then when he comes back between innings I would meet him halfway and walk him to his area. I would have a good post game with him. Thats about all you can do with out making a bad situation worse.

If BU is in his position in shallow right field, does he yell from there "Balls In?" O me or does he come down to the baseline to talk to you? Either way its a no no. The only time I come to the baseline to talk is when I have a rookie that I am training. And the games are sub V. so no big deal. Yikes.

Wow, I didn't say anything about them being up there and we are down here. Man I guess if you are my partner on the bases, and I call a Borderline pitch a ball, you would let me know that the pitch was a strike huh? Ok well I wouldn't do that. A borderline call can go either way. You say its a strike, ok, I say its a ball. You may have a wider strike zone and I may be tighter. I guess Hunter is just alil tighter than most of the complainers. So be it.

Well thats easy to say after you watch replay after replay. To sit in your chair and evaluate an fellow blues dicision is, well it is what it is. They have to make the calls in real time. From that stand point I try to do the same. Even though I do not have the same agle so I give the benefit of the doubt to them. I try to make a dicision on what I see first. Which is why I agree with both calls in question. Just remember the catcher is abt 1.5 to 2 feet behind the plate and camaras do give some optical illusions. Just saying...... Calls were close. could have gone either way. It just didn't go the way you or I wanted. O well thats the beauty of baseball. You win some and you loose some.

Well imo I thought Michael Young checked his swing. Ok well get over it and throw a pitch he can't hit. The game is on the players not the umpires! A couple of borderline calls in a 9 inning game should not determine or influence the outcome. Thats horse poop. The players need to stop making errors. Hit the ball then the umpire doesn't make a dicision on the pitch. The pitch that Gadenhire was complaining about was CLOSE. But it looked like it curved around the plate. It looked like the pitch was inside then curved back to the catchers glove. A strike is where the ball crosses the plate not where the catcher catches the ball! But there again 1 or 2 close calls (out of several hundred calls) shouldn't decide the outcome of the game!
