Need to update some of my cold weather gear in regards to the leggings and undershirts (mock & crew neck). I am usually an Under Armour guy, but wanted to try something different. Any recommendations would be great appreciated. Thanks!

I'm trying a battery heated vest for under the thermal coat this year.  It's pretty low profile.  A hanfdul of others have tried with positive feedback. We'll see.

I recommend the Nike thermal base layers over the Under Armour.

UnderArmour is a nice story and they make nice apparel for lots of applications. I would also remind everyone that UnderArmour does not own any patents on the materials they use. Meaning...they are buying the same mass-market bolts of fabric that everyone else has access to and is buying as well.

Does a $10 generic, thermal shirt do what a $50 UnderArmour cold gear...you'd have to compare the fabrics side by side but, probably not. But, I bet a $15, $20 or $25 might...as always, shop around and make sure what name brands mean and stand for.

On the north side of the Canadian border, I wear my Stanfields Waffle long johns. Stanfields are a Canadian icon in winter gear. (stanfields.com).

They have some performance thermal gear too.
