I tried searching for a solution already posted but I didn't find anything directly related.

My NB plate shoes are about 2 years old. When I go to clean and shine them up, I noticed that the small grooves in the "leather" seem to be filled with a whitish colored substance. I've use various means of shining them in the past (I know.....).

Does anyone have any idea how to remove that? I placed one of mine next to my partner's last week and mine had a significantly lighter color. Will saddle soap remove it? And then black polish over it? I need some help!

Thanks!

If they're the patent leather ones, I have a scuff on the toe of my left shoe that won't buff out. Found a solution online to use petroleum jelly over it--and it hides it. Just have to do it each time I work a plate.

Might be worth a try?

You couldn't find anything about cleaning your shoes?  On THIS site?  That's a bet I'd like to take ;) Anyhow, ...how about a photo of your shoes.  Let's see what you're seeing and maybe we can help.   Also .... what have you used to clean them so far?

Use Leather Luster the shine is 2nd to none and easy to clean. 50/50 mix water and liquid laundry detergent. Spray lightly over shoes. Use soft brush, you do not have to scrub and wipe never loses it's shine.
