I'll admit I know nothing of the internal conversations and decisions about assignments for games during the MLB playoffs, but I was surprised to not see Tumpane's name on the list.

Not every umpire on wildcard round moves on, if you’re newer and it’s your first postseason, you prob start with just wildcard round.

So someone has to take their place. There are umpires who will work the next series not on these and vice versa, so he prob will be on next round.

Or….the 3 balks doomed him 🤷‍♂️

all assignments other than WS have been given out per MLBU media guide

supposedly he is in the DS (per CCS article After Pandemic Halts History, Lisa Turbitt Takes WBC Field   comment section) and he would be eligible for a WS, especially since he has worked an LCS in 2020. who knows what will happen. and all WS umpires will come from those working the DS. they are notified of a WS the day after the very last DS game. heck, they may get a call on the plane flight on their way home the next day.

I wonder of the guys who got their first on field assignments are first or second year full time umpires. If anyone have that information, please post it.
