Is anybody else having issues with the CCS site while using Safari?  In the last week or so it has started randomly crashing my browser.  It was a few times here and there but has gotten progressively worse.  This morning I can’t even read an article without a half dozen crashes and now I can’t get the videos to play through.

I’m not having the issue with any other site that I frequent.  (Not to say it isn’t on my end, but not seeing it anywhere else.)

On chrome for Android it's been really, really slow.

Same issue on my iPhone.

Too add to the feedback, it's the video and Disqus that seems to slow it down. The text will load pretty quickly, but both the video and Disqus will take a minute or more to load.

I'm trying to isolate why that is.... is it something you see on the home page, on individual entries/posts, or both?

Also, I dislike how DISQUS forces ads (I can't uncheck the "allow ads" box!)...since I think the ads are the problem. They didn't used to have ads & things ran smoothly. Huge jump on subscriptions from the free to the pro [which would remove ads] ($89/month...not something I can afford!). You can get an AdBlocker for free on a desktop, not sure about how that'd work for mobile.

Only individual posts. Home screen doesn't load videos or Disqus.

For better or worse, I think it's a byproduct of heavier site traffic. Might be time for us to find a new commenting platform...

Thanks. I'm afraid it's precisely DISQUS, seeing as they recently (a few months ago) forced advertising all over the comments section unless we were to pay for their premium service, and more recently (sounds like the last week or so) added video ads. Disgusting. I upgraded to the semi-cadillac service of theirs for a month (they call it "plus"), and I hope that's enough time to figure it out. And if not...I guess we'll be picking a new commenting system at the Rule Summit! So that's the good & bad - good since I know what's wrong, bad because something's wrong.

@Gil  Just wanted to say your workaround/fixes seem to have worked!
