LL Jr Ump EJs Manager

One of our District Jr Umpires was working a Inter-league Majors Game yesterday.

At some point of the game one of the Managers questions him about a call.

During the conversation the Manager asked the Jr Umpire "Where did they get you, Craigslist"

The fine Jr Umpire quickly and without hesitation EJ the Manager.

Fine job by at 16 year old in teaching a 40+ year old man how to act like an adult.

The topping on the desert is that the Manager was also the visiting leagues President!!!!!!!

Well, I hope that president exercised his executive power to overrule the Jr Umpire! Or the president at least had the umpire replaced during the game. And they are supposed to inherit the Earth? Not if the president does his job.

Our Junior umpires have only had to dump a few knuckleheads over the years, but they've all been warranted, and glorious.

I never ejected a coach when I was a junior umpire but I unejected one. At that time LL wouldn't allow the managers to cross the foul line. I made a call at second that looked odd but correct. The OM, a known umpire eater, came out to question it. I was crossing the infield to talk to him and beckoned him on the field to meet me partway. He asked, I answered, he returned to the dugout. The whole thing may have been two sentences total. After the inning I see the manager standing almost to the outfield fence. I asked him what the heck he was doing down there. He said the VP tossed him for coming out on the infield. I told him I called him out, he didn't say anything out of the way and the VP had no authority so get back in the dugout. I told him if the VP said anything send him to me. I was 16 or 17 at the time.
