The base paths are not the ones painted on the field. The runner establishes his path to the base. When Biaz ran to the right to avoid the tag, he took himself more than 3 feet outside of the path that he chose to take. What is your opinion

Not quite.  Choosing a path stops once a tag attempt starts and you then draw a straight line from the runner's position at the time to the base. He cannot deviate motre than 3' from that line.
