Shaping a Douglas to fit your body

I did a search but couldn't find anything.  I need to shape a Douglas protector.  Can I use a heat gun on a low setting to do so?  I want to shape the very bottom plate so it doesn't stick out as much and is more conformed to my torso.

@MadMax should be able to help you. I believe he's done it before, maybe not a Douglas but if you search his name I'm sure you'll find his thread on it.

I've done it with shin guards using steam. Pretty easy.

He is to close to the ground to be able to wear a 15" Douglas.
