Bought an unequal CP after having issues with my wilson gold team  retrofit. I had sprayed too much odoban on it. The bleeding thru issue is gone now, its fine now after washing pads and harness in washer. I have been rotating both in during tournaments where I have multiple games on the dish. I finally took a solid hit with Unequal CP, foul ball straight off the bat, middle to upper chest area. 14U travel tournament, kid throwing mid to low 70's.  Hit didn't hurt, but I did feel pressure from the hit.  Like the way the unequal fits and it very comfortable, going to have to take a few more shots before feeling completely comfortable with it. I will be keeping the gold CP and still rotating both in for now

The thing I think I like most about my unequal is how it wraps and conforms to my torso. I get great coverage on ny ribs and abs.   I feel very safe wearing it. Just not as cool weatherwise.

I agree. If you're not wearing it, it feels a little heavy. But on your body the weight is distributed so well you don't even notice it. And regardless of the player's age, you won't get hurt.

Took a foul straight back to the collar bone area with my UE on yesterday.  It was a 14U game, and not a great one at that.  I "felt" it, but there was not really any pain.  It did give me concern over how it would have felt if the pitch was in the high 80's or 90's.

I've been hit in a college game, in the collarbone, and I survived.  No big deal.

I never feel anything with my West Vest Gold Retro and am usually surprised with the loud "THUNK' of the ball hitting it. I must have the right torso because it is comfortable and raps around my body. My UE fits ok but still need a All Star harness and the neck pinching is minor but it still bothers me when I think about it during the game. I too will keep switching them but first choice for college games is my WVG Retro.

If you get hit with an 85 mph fastball, you feel it with every chest protector.  It may not hurt, but you feel it none the less.  Unless of course it's an advanced college protector.  Oh I went there.  How have you been, Mr. Ump?

Been doing good umpstu, wearing the stripes on the lined field with the oblong Pig Ball the last few weeks. Just looking for a change of pace but college baseball camps start next week so got to get my mind right...lol. No better place for that than right here. I may just prefer the WVG-R but 85mph don't leave marks or even feel them-seriously. Both protectors are top notch and would wear either in any game.

I actually just joined the local football unit and would have my first games, but my son seemed to misplace all of my football gear with the exception of a shirt and the black had faded to brown, so I'm waiting to get my new stuff.  Like football, love baseball.

Friday Night Lights is the best high school sport. 100's of fans and better weather than baseball. With that said there is something to be said for an 85 mph ball coming at your face vs a 230 lb Running Back bearing down on you that can't be replaced. Love the game.
