Wilson Shock FX 2.0

I wanted to give a shout out to Wilson for the Shock FX 2.0 Hockey style mask. I recently (well 6 months ago) had neck surgery and I own one of these helmets. Initially at the beginning of this season was concerned about the weight of the helmet on my neck. I have not had any issues with the weight. Last Night I took a foul ball off the bat directly to the center of the mask. The shock absorption was PERFECT. I had my bell rung however this morning my neck isn't even sore. The mask absorbed the shock just as they say it would. I am impressed with the mask!!!!!!!  Great Job Wilson!!!

I like mine but it's a bit heavy for me, but for older kids, yeah, I'll wear it. I took a direct center one off a 14u Majors, a big 14 too. It must have sounded or looked horrible because coaches from both side yelled some version of "oh sh*t, blue, you ok". I was fine, didn't feel a thing. 

I'm calling Wilson about mine thought, some of the pads fell out and are gone as the glue didn't stick. I've only had it 6 months and most of that it was stored in my closet.

@ Smckin02 I have never considered wearing a HSM  for the same reason. My first traditional mask was a Wilson Dynalite, and I left the field many of games with sore painful neck. I sold it and got the All Star 4000 and with its light weight its been great. Good to hear that the HSM hasn't bothered your neck. I don't think I could ever wear a mask weighing 20 oz or more. I am having my second neck surgery at the end of this season.

Best of luck on the surgery midtnump.... I honestly have not had any issues with the HSM... don't think I will ever go back to a traditional mask

The thing with any hsm is that they do weigh more than a traditional mask but it is more evenly distributed and feels like less.
