Question

I had a batter intentionally put his leg in the path of a inside pitch that was out of the strike zone the count at the time was 1/2........I did not award the batter 1st and instead made him bat again and called that pitch a ball count now 2/2. Right or wrong? Coach said I was wrong   The coach said it should have been a no pitch.

Absolutely correct. I hope your verbal was:

"time!" "Stay right here batter!" "Ball" "count is now 2 balls, 2 strikes!" With emphasis. Let them know that there is no doubt you nailed the call and that YOU are in charge here.

If not, practice that. You'll rarely hear a peep from a coach or a dugout if you make the call with that level of authority, emphasis and certainty.

As described, you did the right thing. Tell the coach, do-overs are for volleyball.

Volleyball does not have do-overs.

For the record, volleyball has re-plays. :shhh:

I agree with what @Majordave said.  It can't be a "no pitch" like the coach wanted because there was a pitch and you make sure that they know he's staying right there in the box.  I'm not awarding the batter 1st because he did something intentional.  Remember, if that pitch happens to be in the strike zone, it's dead ball, strike 3.

Had three batters make no attempt to avoid being hit by a pitch today. All three batters did it on ball four...not too bright!
