100% agree just saying that's the only time I allow the coach to go out without letting me know about a pitching change.

Ok I am confused, if a Coach asks for time to go talk to his Pitcher, you make him tell you before he goes out there whether he is making a pitching change?

:ranton: OK. I got to review my NJ state FED test today. Evidently the NJ powers that be don't understand that with R2, F1 turning and throwing to F4 who is off the base is a Feint to 2nd.

Question #31
R1 on second and F1 wheels and throws to F4, who is standing stationary about 15 feet from second base at his defensive positon.

a. Legal

b. Illegal
Explanation
Rule 6-4b

I can live with their misinterpretation, but this one is just flat out wrong. Seems they can't even read the case play they cited correctly.

R1 is advancing to second when the ball batted by B2 is dropped by F4. The ball then touches R1, and in so doing, prevents F3 from making a play on the ball. U2 rules R1 out for interference

a. Correct

b. Incorrect
Explanation
Casebook Play 8.4.2 Situation I

:rantoff:

Sorry. Had to vent.

ding ding both my wrong answers right there.........especially when the one question doesn't say anything about the runner going out of his way to interfere with the play/ball after the touch.....i guess their is a such thing as a balk to second when runner on second and an inside move to second occurs....so this is how what they have to teach the pitchers....if you inside move and your defensive player doesnt break for bag just don't throw the ball just step down and disengage with pivot foot as well.....STUPID...i still say if i call a balk on a kid doing that man I'm going to have an ear full from the DHC lol

I was sarcastic but my phone goofed and I didn't have the :P at the end.....no I don't care when he tells me....coaches need to sometimes see if the pitcher feels good or wants to go after this batter or needs help getting him out with a relief pitcher....never would I make a coach tell me that before he comes out, I was a college catcher I understand the game inside and out, yes umpiring is different but in this case this is a baseball thing.  Sorry for mind boggling you LOL :P, I'm on computer now LOL

Got that right. I really thought we were going to have  our game today, Matt. Little cold but the ground seems dry and 95% of the snow is gone. I'm already cancelled for tomorrow too. Next up, Friday.  Maybe the weather will be better for our game together in mid May!!

Game 1 in the book today. A balmy 36 degrees at game time.

The Majestic thermabase jacket and McDavid Hood made this umpire toasty while lots of others were shivering and shaking in the lovely January weather we are enjoying.

I had this incorrect on the test as well.

I am going to write to my chapter interpreter this evening to let him know that I will be addressing it at our chapter meeting tomorrow evening.
