I'm not one for new year's resolutions. I haven't even thought to weigh myself lately. I'd probably not like what I see after the holidays.

But, my family adopted a dog just before Christmas and he has me walking like I haven't walked in a long time. I started with the just over a mile route I did with my last dog; he wanted more. So I did a 2 mile route with him; he wanted more. Next I did a 3.5 mile route with him; he wanted more. I did a 6 mile route; he still wants more.

Now everyday including rain & cold he gets either the 2 mile or 3.5 mile route. I'f I have time this weekend I'm going to see how he does with about a 10 mile trail.

This dog has been the best thing for my fitness. Even last night I wasn't able to take him out until about 11:00 and we went for the 3.5 mile route while it was 25 degrees outside. My last dog was awesome, but he was over walks in less than a mile.

I personally struggle with the cold. Every year I fall off in fitness, then in March I pick it back up and lose 15-20 lbs by July. I've resolved the last 2 years to keep it off ALL year, but I'm already up over 10 lbs since October, but I'm gonna do it!!!! I'm starting NOW!

I'm in a weightlifting class and a swimming class to boost my progress. Weight has been fluctuating but my muscle mass has increased and so has my stamina. In the words of the guy who started this, DO A JOB, GET SOOOMEEE!

It's not about weight. It's inches and fitness. Mirrors don't lie!

Eat right. Drink right. Move more. Sleep enough.

I'm forty pounds over the Navy weight limit for my height. Won't be able to enlist if I don't at least try to get the weight down as well. All in good time...

You're making the right lifestyle changes. You've got three years. Just manage your eating habits and exercise habits into a new lifestyle. Wawa not soda or fruity energy drinks, even diet. Fruits and veggies (fresh) not food from a box or bag or microwave or drive thru. Less processed stuff. Whole grains not processed. Focus on eating right and exercising regularly. Make it your daily routine. It's okay to eat crap once per week. Reward yourself for your effort. Once per week. Not per day. This will be very hard at first. I've trained my mind that mcdonalds and donuts and soda are all poison.

I really fell of this for awhile but found a new diet that seems promising, its based on water, carrots and broccoli. You can eat tons more carrots than most foods because its a very low calorie food, broccoli apparently burns more calories to digest than it has in it so its something you can eat a lot of with little worry. Just sharing in case anyone else wanted to see more ideas.

Broccoli? Newman, you wouldn't eat broccoli if it was deep fried and covered in chocolate sauce.

I love the stuff, I drink water with it and it fills me, I'm 214 right now and on track to be at 125 by January. Best info I ever was given.

If it's working, okay, but that sounds really dangerous to maintain for that long, bruh, Carrots and broccoli is nice and all but it doesn't have protein. Or very many carbohydrates (YES, you need them.) And you need calcium. Just be careful.

I've gone paleo at least until the wresting season starts...I sure do miss pasta.

I eat all that stuff at dinner, but snacks, lunch and breakfast are where I eat carrots and broccoli alone.

I would flip it-eat all the other stuff in the morning...that way you use it throughout the day instead of just letting it process and then just build up in your body while you sleep.

Then explain what you're doing to your parents and they might let you off...my parents were PISSED when my brother went vegetarian but they still let him make his own dinner. If not, well, life is such and such is life. Like I said-just be careful with it all because if not executed right it could go sour quickly or leave you with nasty repercussions down the road.

A lot of things, mostly from mineral deficiency. Osteoporosis if you aren't getting enough calcium and kidney stones if you're getting too much, premature hair loss, in extreme cases (like anorexia-grade deficiencies) lips and fingernails turning blue, delayed blood clotting, reduced eyesight, acne, bile deficiencies, pancreas malfunctions like higher resistance to insulin, high blood pressure, dangerously low blood pressure, soft tissue decay, severely imbalanced hormones, protein decays, insomnia, congestive heart failure, thyroid malfunction, etc, etc...I'm taking a human biology class and these are some of the things we learned can happen, but in most cases do not happen. Don't expect it. If you aren't developing a full blown eating disorder while you only allow yourself broccoli and carrots, always, then you should be for the most part okay.

Anyone else still at it? I'm currently 217 pounds. Down 48. Looking for about 10 more pounds loss. 13.2 % body fat. Hoping for sub 10.

I'm at 212 from 230 and haven't added in the exercise part of my plan. Big thing was cutting out soda, helped alot and I sleep better without the added caffine. I'm still trying to figure out how I lost 2 pounds from past night when I was 214, seems like alot to drop at once.

My weight's not dropping, really, but my bf% is. Setting bench press PR's nearly every week. Slowly becoming paleo. Running a half marathon in October.

That happens when you have a salt flush and all the water comes out of your system. Don't worry about it unless it becomes a daily occurrence.
