I dont do little League.. But i notice a lot of PU going to the 3rd base side of the dirt circle on almost every play when the ball is hit to the outfield... even plays at the plate... is that what is taught?..

 

Why do they not just set straight back to the point of the plate and watch the play?

It's not like LL has one clinic that everyone goes to.  The West region has mirrored mechanics taught by Jim Evans for years.  I believe he has even personally consulted with them as well.  Other regions may use different mechanics.
