Rookie "Hazing"

I worked a LL Intermediate district game tonight with two other guys who've been doing them a while now. They're only a little older than me but have been doing it since they were 16.

 

As the pitcher takes his warm ups in the top of the first, they go...

 

U1: "Now remember... Don't suck..."

U3: "... Call strikes..."

U1: "And don't get hit!"

 

with that they both punched my chest protector at the same time hard enough to catch me off balance and bolted to A and D... I looked down and grinned at U1 as I told the catcher two more, and he was laughing his ass off.

That's not hazing . Hazing would be the rookie umpire wing jumping on a grenade for his CC while on the road, or making the rook work 5 plate in a row to make sure he gets his plate stance right .
