I don't have a EJ here either. But now this coach has a bigger problem, he's on my radar now. 9 times out of 10, the coach will eventually run himself. You'll just have more to put in a EJ report and makes your case look better.

I would not eject

- 18 year old league the cussing does not bother me as much. If it were a 10 year old league I would pop but only if he said it loud.

- He did not say "you" If he says your call was bullsh*t then dump him all day.

Nope. It's not the presence or absence of "you." It's about whether he's calling me or my call horsesh1t.

He can complain about the call all day, using any pronouns he wants. When it turns personal, then he's gotta go. And he can get personal without using "you," for example: "Cheater!"

"That was a horseSH*# call" "you made a horseSH*# call" etc aren't personal at all. Especially in upper levels. It's obvious this jackwagon didn't have a clue, but he gets the same consideration I'd give Augie G. And AG is notoriously foul mouthed.

Based on those words, that feels like a quick trigger to me. I can imagine he might also be an ass-hat and use a belligerent tone of voice. But on paper, I don't see myself ejecting for that.

I will toss you if you swear on my field, I leave my foul mouth behind when I arrive I expect everyone else to do the same

Good luck.

Don't need it.

You toss for this at this level, you'll get a reputation you don't want, and then you'll need some luck.

Why would you even think about ejecting? He's getting off the field and he's not crossing any lines.Well he is crossing one maybe two lines, the in/out of play line, and maybe the foul line

Assuming this is summer ball, I have no problem with an ejection here. My tolerance level decreases significantly in the summer. If some rec coach wants to be an ass hat, he can deal with the consequences. I wouldn't criticize anyone for not ejecting though. Like others said he will probably hang himself soon enough.

In a college game in the spring, I wouldn't think about ejecting a head coach for that. Of course those coaches usually know what a foul tip is.

I'm not sure that I have it in me to just let him walk away - but I'd probably give him a firm "that's enough, Bill" even if he is walking away.  He'll probably  be dumb enough to throw something else in and then it's a no brainer.  I have a very low tolerance for Rec Coaches arguing about things that they are patently wrong about - so I don't blame you for tossing depending on tone of voice and volume.

I know I'm late to the conversation here, but here's my $.02 anyway.

At this level, I would not eject unless that last comment was loud enough for more than me, my partner & the HC to hear.  If he says it fairly quietly, he's just venting while walking away - I let him.

If it's "loud enough", he's gone.

Having only umped about 15 games in my career thus far, I'm no authority on whether or not this was ejectable. However, having been around baseball as a player and coach for quite a while, I can tell you that these things become bigger things easily, and temporally speaking, it's difficult to respect an ump who tolerates this. Where I ump, we see the same coaches regularly, and if this brother sees this coach again without dealing with this issue, it'll be worse next time, without a doubt. The leash for coaches in rec/youth ball needs to be shortened considerably. This is coming from one of those coaches... God forgive me.
