Well it finally happened today, I got hit square in the mask with a thrown bat. It happened during the second pitch of the game, the batter swung and threw that bat and luckily it hit my mask square and knocked it off. I had a very minor head ache the rest of the game and was able to finish the entire crappy varsity district championship game. I really hope I do not have any more symptoms of a concussion because I have 8 tournament games this weekend and can not back out now.

All I can say about this experience is that thrown bats to the mask hurt, a lot and I hope that none of you ever will get to experience this. It is by far my worst hit ever taken and I am just glad I had my Rawlings TI and TW pads to protect me.

You didn't have a defensive coach screaming about a thrown bat and the batter should be out???  :smachhead:

Guys:

Under OBR, warn the coach the first time a kid tosses a bat then eject if he does it again in the same game? I had a kid a couple of weeks ago hit me in the shins his 1st AB then hit F2 in the throat his 3rd AB.

9.01C? A bit of a cop out I know but I'm trying to get help from the board on what can be a safety issue. Thanks

No go on 9.01©, that is abuse of the rule IMO. You'll need a local rule under OBR.
