Chest protector fit

Guys, I live in a rural area with only Honig's being relatively close. I am trying to find a CP that fits and offers better protection than what I have got without having to order and return several to get the right sizing. Currently using my Champro hard shell that I had for LL and the level of baseball is exceeding my level of protection. I used to have a Platinum and I have a Honig's Pro Elite. Neither fit well so I got rid of the Platinum and am stuck with the Honig's. My fit problem is this...barrel chest and thick, short neck. With the old 2 CP's the neck piece pushed my mask out at the throat protector while standing straight up...provided great protection, but not comfortable in the slightest. My question is, does the Gold, the All-Star or another CP have a lower profile neck piece? The only one that I have seen that looks like what I am after is the Champion and I don't feel like that is an upgrade from what I already have.

Any suggestions? I know I will have to ultimately order a couple different ones to try on, but if I can keep it to a minimum that would be great.

I can't believe I am saying this but an Unequal may be the thing. Lightweight, cool, good protection,low profile. Only downside, pricy.

I have a profile similar to yours. Big short necks don't work well in many CPs.

I would recommend 1) Unequal 2) Douglas, 3) WV gold.

All three give my neck no problems. I had to cut the neck opening of my All-star system 7 a couple of inches bigger to get it to fit.

Amen. I have an 19 inch neck and have no issues with the Force 3.

My System 7 rubbed my neck a whole lot.

FWIW , I owned the champion (the west vest looking) model , not the re modeled newer version , i don't think the protection is as any different . I was very happy with it , took some good shots up to frosh HS level . I sold it on here this past yr , i only own the douglas and the AS system 7 now . for the price it is the best value out there hands down for a hardshell CP . I know one guy who uses it at the junior college level , havent heard him ever complain . Mine fit well and wasn't an issue .

How did you feel the protection level was? I keep looking at it...I know it's not a gold...My Champro is comfortable, just not enough protection.Never any ill effects and I've taken shots with it. HSV no hesitation to wear it. Hell, I'd wear it on any field.

I love the Champion hardshell. I work HS varisty, college and adult ball and have had nothing more than a thump with it.
