Will Little with his first Major League Ejection!

 

Couldn't tell if it actually hit the bat or not from the video... Also no tag on the D3S

Well, he's got a pretty thin skin if a player can't say, "You're a piece of sh!t" to his face without getting run!

I realize that rooks always get more heat from players and managers, but am I alone in thinking that the fill-ins and newly called up guys are taking a lot of heat this season?

Glad you asked... of our 85 ejections thus far this reg season, 16* have been from the AAA crew (18.8%).

 

*Includes Chris Conroy's ejection, before his officially announced hiring and Clint Fagan's six charged ejections during the Dodgers-D'Backs fight.

 

I guess if the phrase "acceptable miss" can be used, then we can call those seven "acceptable" removals from the stats, as would be Holbrook's four during the fight in San Diego, which comes out to 74 ejections including nine AAA or 12.2%.

 

By comparison, 2012 had 199 total ejections of which 33 were AAA (16.6%). The similar "acceptable" removal standard applied, 4 MLB ejections were removed for 195 subset 33 or 16.9%.

 

Part of the perception issue is it seems MiLB tosses in 2013 have been on the rise as of late (e.g., of 34 total June ejections, 12 were AAA [35.3%] or 28 and 6 with "acceptable" removals [21.4%])—Recency bias.

This ejection was not as cut and dry as you guys think. Machado had a run in with Will Little the night before on a missed call at first base. I'm sure Machado had this in mind when he was having words with Little.

I think what he was saying was Machado had already felt wronged previously and it escalated his response.

You might be right. Would that be a reason not to regard the EJ as cut and dried? Do you really care about player grudges?

Not at all,I was just saying that the previous day elicited more of a response than normal. The ejection was straight forward.

Stop being so sensitive..... I'm just pointing out that there was a bit of previous history prior to the ejection. I didn't see where he called him that..... I don't proclaim to be a great lip reader but at the end it looked like Machado says that was a horrible call, and then says something else then ends with he was awful. Did you read somewhere that he called him a POS?

Was I being sensitive? You stated that the EJ was "not cut and dried." That expression means that it's disputable. I don't see how anyone could reasonably dispute the EJ, regardless of history. Just expressing my opinion.

 

I was reading his lips, especially at 0:50 in the clip. As you know, it would not be customary to see reporting on his exact words in the media.

And the cool thing is Buck knows it.  He had to come out and bitch a little to defend his guy but could tell he wasn't full blown pissed.
