I would say exactly opposite, mid.

I agree with MidAm, but it can vary if the infield also shifts a little to the F6 side.  Theres a better chance of F6 making a play up the middle to his glove side then there is for F4 to make it up the middle to his hand side.  And if you are in C and theres a throw to third both F6 and F5 can block you out.  You get a more clear lane from B -- but good luck if theres a swipe tag. lol.

Thank you?

just trying to explain why imo deep B is better than deep C.  If it doesn't work for you then it doesn't work for you (as I learnt in another arena just this morning)

Oh, I'm not criticizing. Most of the games I work don't afford me any choice in starting position. :)

Is that because you're calling from behind the pitcher?  :fuel:

I would say (and teach):

With runners on 2nd & 3rd -or- just a runner on 3rd = go to deep B.  It keeps you out of any potential throwing lanes and you don't have a runner behind you (R1) to worry about.  At the very least the infield will look the runners back and go to 1st, or they are going to throw home.

If the bases are loaded, stay in deep C and prepare to move when the ball is hit.  You rarely see them play the entire infield in with the bases loaded unless it's a game winning situation because they can turn 2 up the middle and with 2 outs you have a lot of potential force outs.

Basically it's a personal preference.  Whatever makes you feel comfortable.  Unless "big brother" tells you otherwise...

Actually I would stay in B for it all.
