If you are not here to learn then what are you doing here. Not to be rude but for 10 years of experience some of the things you say are normally said by umpires just starting out.

General clinic advice:  Take what works for you and ignore the rest.  Dont keep saying "yeah but".

Might work here.  Or not.

Either way, fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, get ignored. ;)

Therefore they will not like me.  I do question everything.

As for my experience I have umpired for over 10 years so I'm not green.  Now I will say that during that time I did not look at is a vocation, but more as something that I enjoyed and could make some extra money at.  I've always, no matter what organization I've worked for, been considered a very good umpire.  I have not however been subject to many formal evaluations, so my mechanics, and rules knowledge are lacking.  But my hustle, positioning, and judgement I'm very confident are as good as anyone.  At least they are as good or better than most of the umpires I've worked with.

If you look at my posts, most of the stuff I argue with are instances where the experienced umpires want me to just bow down and except their expertise.  That's just not going to happen with me.  I don't know anyone on here.  I have no idea how experienced they are or what kind of credentials they have.

Then WTF are you doing here in the first place?  You ask a question and then ignore the advice or act like it's just random.  If you're going to do that, why not just go to your local mall, where you don't know anyone or their credentials THERE, either, and ask your questions?

If you're so s--t hot in your local area, stay there, and become a local superstar.  Just stop being such a troll here.

I did a few 13-15 year old game this week and the pitchers all expected the high strike to be called for them.  Like, almost at the shoulders high.  The coaches were giving me flack for it... but I contiued calling it a ball.

As I stated and my posts on ALL threads would prove I don't "ask a question then ignore the advice".  When I ask a question and the advice is logical I accept it.  When it doesn't make sense to me I question it.  Why is that so hard to understand?

When I am given advice that I can't logically accept, I quietly ignore it. I have given up on  having to understand everything, I'm too old for the aggravation.

Scott, there is nothing wrong with questioning something that toy don't understand. There is nothing wing with listening to all the advice and picking out what works for you. I am a trainer and interpreter in my area, but I do not expect my teachings to complicated blindly. I stress that you are being taught standard mechanics to put you in a given spot for most plays. However, you need to understand the why so when it blow up to can adjust. Calling pitches is the same, we can teach the basics but you have to put it in practice. Any clinician can quickly spot the guy that puts contrary to be contrary, don't be that guy. Nobody here expects you to follow blindly but when term very experienced guys tell toy the same thing, probably correct. If you doubt someone's experience level, PM me and I can tell you who had the track record.

To the other guys, throttle back the personal comments and get the thread back on track. I don't like locking threads, too many sites do that too easily. However, we can of needed. Carry on.
