The Umpire School is proud to join the Umpire-Empire family.  We look forward to growing our relationship with the umpiring community and this collaborative effort is an enormous step towards that goal. Our approach will be constructive and educational in nature and we look forward to being one of the many resources that Umpire-Empire offers its members.

As umpires, we all take pride in the responsibility of offering the highest quality officiating skills to the associations, groups and schools utilizing your services. Collectively we are also responsible for improving our skills through a variety of training and development methods.

Recognizing the significant contribution all of us make to all levels of baseball, I am reaching out to make you aware of our efforts to provide a training and development resource for all umpires, regardless of their experience level, to improve their skill sets on and off the field.

Three years ago, Minor League Baseball created The Umpire School (www.TheRightCall.net), which will be housed at Vero Beach Sports Village, a 67-acre major league campus in Vero Beach, FL. They tabbed members of the Professional Baseball Umpire Corp. (PBUC) to drive the curriculum and instruction. This provides students a unique opportunity to accelerate their development through PBUC’s experience providing qualified umpires to officiate in the 16 domestic Minor Leagues while exclusively developing umpire talent for MLB. Since PBUC’s inception every umpire hired by Major League Baseball has come through the PBUC system.

I would like to offer our staff as a resource should you desire to learn more about the opportunities we offer. If you or your association would like assistance with camps, clinics or other ways to improve your effectiveness on and off the field, we are available.

Our desire is to grow a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with the umpiring community.

I ask that you share the good news with others by spreading awareness about this forum, spending time in a constructive manner making your fellow officials better by frequenting this forum and website and by visiting our Official Supplier at www.Ump-Attire.com. Regardless of your future plans, our staff will be frequent visitors here to help you with any questions you may have.

Yours in Baseball.

Long time lurker here, but finally signed up thanks to this. Really leaning towards going this winter and this seems like a great place to learn even more about it.

DO IT! I attended this year and it was the best umpiring experience I've ever had. I made a few lifetime friends and learned everything there is to know about two-man mechanics and the Official Baseball Rules. The only thing I wish would have been different is having the option to see and/or buy video of yourself working.
