I think it was in the Oklahoma State/Louisville Regional game where there was a comebacker hit to F1.  R3 was going on contact, he gets in a rundown, F1 runs him all the way back toward 3B where BR is steps away from 3B...BR retreats to 2B and R3 appears to be tagged out from my angle.

3BU seemed to not have the same angle as me and calls R3 safe at 3B for I'm guessing "no tag"

I didn't watch the discussion or what happened afterward, but did anybody else see this play and what did they end up doing?

Arkansas was in the Kansas State regional so it had to have been someone else playing Louisville.

That play seems to be included in grayhawk's vid. I think U3 has a better angle than we do for judging that swipe tag.

Poor play by F5 not to get that tag down. R3 did NOT leave his basepath, he went down, not out.

In the Louisville/Oklahoma State game - it was a ball back to the pitcher and he got R3 in a rundown.  He was running him back to 3rd with the ball in his hand.  As they got close to the 3B cutout, the pitcher put the ball in his glove and tagged the runner.  The 3B umpire called him safe and I believe it was because he thought he tagged him with an empty glove.  An argument ensued with the OSU head coach and the crew got together and changed the call to an out.  Louisville put up a little bit of a protest but they didn't set the field on fire.
