So many bangers

Worked a game to today as BU and man I don't think I have ever had so many bangers on the bases. Seemed like every half inning I had close calls.

The good thing was I never heard any complaints. I felt good and comfortable.

I wasn't scheduled to work today but I was at another field nearby working 2 football games. When I was done I drove by the other park and our UIC and another guy were between games and the UIC asked me if I wanted to take over his 2nd game. I was tired from the football games but I will always take a baseball game.

Most guys concentrate on their plate work but the bases are important too. It does feel good to have a really good base game. Too many times you get bored out there and when you have a lot going on and you nail it, it is good stuff.

I'd love to have a game like that. It happens everyonce and a while where the action is on the bases.

I've heard that more guys get released from MiLB because of their base work than because of their plate work.

I don't know if that is true but it makes sense. So much emphasis is put on plate work that bases get neglected. It is a shame because bases are not as easy as some think.
