I currently wear a NB450 plate shoe and am considering purchasing new shoes for next season. I like the feel of the NB shoes, so.... would they be closer to a mid or low cut?? And, if they're a mid cut, do they make a solid black mid cut??

Mid.

And so far, Reebok does not make an all-black mid-cut.

Thanks Kevin, that's what I thought. Has there been any talk about making them for next season?? I find the shoe with the white trim too busy.

I had heard rumblings that they would make an all-black mid, but haven't seen it.

I must say, if you are accustomed to the feel of the NB 450, by all means, go with the mid-cut in a Reebok. I have the mid and the low, and the low does not feel right at all.

And I too found the white logo too busy ... until I found three pairs of them at $14.99, $14.99 and $9.99. Now the white logos are rather attractive.

Kevin-

Where did you find the Reeboks for $14.99? I'm looking for a pair of 13's and haven't seen anything under $90.

Select Ross stores around California. Here's the discussion thread. :notworthy:

I wanted to wait on the all-blacks also, but something very compelling took over my thinking.

I hate to do this ... well, hate's a strong word. I'm doing this with the appropriate sensitivity. There, that's better.

Well, here goes: A mentor of mine told me that he stumbled across some Reebok plate shoes at a Ross store. (They have a random collection of open-box and last season's shoes in every store. I go there often, because my son and I have sizes that are not available at most stores.)

So, being in San Diego at the time, I made my way up the freeway to Los Angeles, stopping at each Ross I spotted, and a few I knew about in the L.A. area once I got there. Well, the guy was right: I found quite a few pairs of the 2009 Reebok plate shoes! There were mid-cuts and low-cuts. Most of the sizes were very large or very small: 7, 7.5, 8, 14, 15 (and even a 16). Then I started finding my size: 13. Here's what I came up with:

Read the tag carefully:

So for a grand total of $32 and change, I get to trot out there alternating between my mids and my lows. I no longer am annoyed by all those white logos.

I inspected the shoes, and I tried to see if they were defective in any appreciable way. I was able to come up with this one flaw in the mid-cut pair:

See those little blue marks? I guess I can white them out or something. Or Maybe my pants will fall over it enough of the time. I guess it's one of the things you have to deal with when you're getting a pair of shoes for the cost of shipping on a pair from ebay.

So now you know that many of the shoes that are going on ebay for $30 or more were bought at Ross for $14.99 plus tax.

I have some 13.5s that I found on the clearance rack at Ross Dress For Less. It was a freak thing, and only very small and large sizes were getting cleared out. I would up with three pairs and several buds also wound up with some. I'm unsure if I am going to keep the low-cuts, of which I have two. I'm a mid-cut guy, and I just can't get used to them.

If 13.5 lows are your thing, let me know.

P.S. Thanks, TRav; I posted this after yours without seeing yours first.

The BIGGER white stripes, ....the RBK and the MLB logos are over the top on the 2009 , but at those prices, ....hell yeah! :notworthy:

I DO like the toned down logos on the 2010, ...I like that it just says Reebok on the heel now, and ...............the MLB logo is gone off the met-plate!! :spit:

And, they're damn comfy too! ;)

I agree, ...if you're used to a mid, ....stay with a mid

I know I'll eventually get the toned-down ones. I'm right with you on the logos. Although, if I have my tailor lengthen all my slacks ...

.....you'll make BrianC very happy! :notworthy::hi5:
