U15 7th inning, game tied, R3 2 out. I'm in C and there is kind of a lull, all of a sudden F1 throws the ball towards 3 base coaches box. R3 streaks for home and scores easily. Game over, All hell breaks loose.

VM runs out to pitcher and asks what happened. It seems 3BC asked F1 if he could see the ball, so F1 obliged. Pretty crappy trick but nothing in rules about it. My partner and I talked about it and annouced game was over. He or I never heard the coach call for the ball.

What a sh%# head, I think I might have to make up a rule against that piece of crap.

Try to stretch 9.01c????

OP said neither he or partner had heard it, therefore, nothing.

Now if they did, assuming OBR, besides for streching 9.01c, can't do anything unless coach actually handles ball. But would this be different in FED?

You could call a verbal interferance but only if you or your partner heard something, and if you felt that the coach was trying to deceive the pitcher.

If I hear and see that happen, I'm calling "time" immidiately "so that he can examine the ball without interference being called."

Too bush league for me not to do something.

Well, asking for a live ball would be decieving in my book. Besides, that is my job to determine if ball is fit for play. I might be inclined to run him for that (probably unjustified, but mattering on how he did it). But the key here to get anything is hearing it.

There's no verbal interference in OBR.

What a dick.

Would of loved to of heard him ask, that way you could hand it to him and tell him to observe it from the bus while the game finishes.

I would have said "sorry I accidently called time, the ball is dead - your ejected for being a dick, and im going to tell the kids father, hopefully he's a monster that won't mind beating the SH*# out of you." FED - Sportsmanship, fair play and safety are stressed. They pull this crap, I'll work to ensure they lose and I'll even tell them I will.
