I'm headed to the Southern Camp in February and I am really looking forward to it. I'm sure the International camp will be a great event, and, that it will be especially helpful if you are looking to work in the region...

Good luck!

I'm waiting to find out if better half can get vacation for those dates...if she can, I will be going.

Is she an Ump also?

In a sense, she will have to "umpire" our 4y/o... she's a RN that works nights and I work from home so most of the time I'm there when she's at work or sleeping. The vacation is because I won't be there at all and she's scheduled to work that weekend.

She did throw it out there that if she got vacation they could come along and make it a trip for them...I then reminded her it was Atlanta, IMO the best thing about Atlanta is the airport! Not the greatest tourist destination, (once again) IMO.

They have a cool zoo the Coke museum and quite a lot more. If they come don't expect to spend too much time with them because it is pretty much 9am - 9pm.

Also keep your daughter away from the umpires, I'll just say a lot of the language is not G rated....

Is this a typical Umpire manner? I thought it was only those I knew that behave like that...whahhaa...

Eventhough I have to say that most of the Umps I know personally, are awesome people, good jokers, well-mannerd and good party fellows and drinkers. Not heavy drinkers but they can't argue without the fuel if you know what I mean.

The older they are, the greater person. That's my humble opinion... don't shoot me, ok?

It's all in good spirits, nothing malicous.

I know that.

Since I started umpiring, whenever it's my birthday, I try to get a game to ump. Therefore, I do not have to arrange anything else at home as we start games here around 20.00. and are ump till around 23.00 and afterwards keep on the mellodrama till around 01.00.

I only have to bring a HUGE bottle of whiskey, don't have to worry about what to wear and doesn't have to clean the place afterwards...AWESOME.
