Hey guys, anyone have any info on the sizing of the Smitty comfort tech shirts? I'm planing on buying a few colours from purchase officials and I'd like to know whether a medium would be too small (I'm 5'8, 155). The only other shirts I have are Silverstar and Officials Choice which both run quite large.

I use my Smittys for both the plate and bases....fits over my cp with no problem, and not too big when I am on the bases.

Be careful with the lt. blue/black collar, it does not match Honigs polo blue.

Also, you may want to check them out on Ebay (diner30), shirts can be found for 19.99 + 8.95 shipping no matter how many shirts you buy. shipping to Canada may be more, shoot them a message. Unless their site is better. My

Thanks for the info, I'm getting the cream for sure. I was also planning on getting the polo blue, as long as it's not horribly off from my partners it'll be fine.

btw shipping to Canada is terrible, I'm headed to Chicago in a couple weeks so I'll have the shirts meet me there.

It is a lighter shade of the blue....chekc out the ebay store for them then...I had Reebok plate shoes for 99$ with free shipping. Their site was $109 plus shipping...a few bucks saved.

They run slightly large to accommodate gear, and have a very forgiving fabric for wearing one size on plate and bases. It's the only brand that allows that. I would think that at 155, a medium would work where standard mediums fit right for you, because with the slightly generous sizing and stretchy fabric, you might also get it over the gear reasonably easily.

I am 5"9, 165.

I wear a medium over a Wilson Charcoal CP with no problem.

I'm 6'1" and about 175. I wear a large over my chest protector and a medium on the bases. They're the best fitting shirts I have, including Honigs.

The Polo Blue will NOT match your Honig's partner!!

Sizing: With great info from Kevin Finnerty, I economically got my shirts this year from Smitty's ....GREAT value, great wash and wear, no wrinkles, stretchy and comfy in the heat!!

All my shirts are an XL, so I got a 2XL in Smitty's and it fits very comfy over my Douglas CP, ...and it's just a tad big for the bases, but still looks fine!:HS

I have one long sleeve and one short sleeve in the Smitty....I like to look and the feel. Fit is fine for me behind the plate or bases, I am a solid 2x. Wore my red Smitty the other day for the finals in a USSSA World Series...it was HOT...but the shirt is cooler that my Davis shirts but not as cool as my Honigs Cream. Their Polo blue is powder with a black collar..not Polo like Honigs or Majestic. Heck even TOC shirts match better with Honigs than the Smitty or Cliff Keen...now that is saying something :HS

I had something strange happen to me: I arrived at a base game with a plate shirt. I put it on and expressed disgust at myself, and then asked my partner to check the label. He said, "Majestic XL." (I wear XL on the bases and 2X behind the plate with my Majestics.)

Hmmmmmm ...

I went home and laid it out next to another Majestic XL, and it was a full inch and a half wider than the other one. But the XL that I wore was significantly smaller than a Majestic 2X. So, I guess the XL that I used to compare was actually a Large, the one I wore as a base shirt is a true XL and the other one is a true 2X, or between issues, they changed their sizing. WTF??.

I have now had shirts from three major umpire suppliers--Honig's, +POS and Majestic--which bore the wrong size on the label.

Were they (the shirts from any single provider) bought at the same time? The vendors often change manufacturers and the specific material, dye, buttons, sizing, etc. all can change.
