FM4000UMP Mask

So i got this new mask have not wore it yet.

Well it has this bar at the bottom going right down the middle of the All-Star Logo. So if I want to put new pads on it. Like the Team Wendy's or Wilson I would have to cut a slit on the strap on the new pads.

Has anyone else had to do this?

I have this same mask and I have worn it three times so far. I really like it a lot. As far as pad replacement goes, I would be more concerned about the fit of the TOP pad and not the lower pad. Yes the velcro will need to split on the bottom pad. On this frame the TOP bar is curved to keep the bar away from your head. The original pad has an arc to it that a standard pad does not. I would think that the Team Wendy's might form to this shape better than the Wilson's.

I like the original pads. I think they are very good. The micro fiber is not grabby and the foam is stiff enough without being a pillow. took a pretty good shot that was solid enough to snap the nylon tie off my throat guard. The pads did the job.

I have this mask also. I've worn it twice so far and love it. I have taken to hard shots and the mask and padding did the job!

It's more styling than anything else (color too) , but same concept of the upper bar, and the same pads ...

That's big enough, and I can understand that for sure!

But, ...I didn't see this 44.95 price, ...I saw 59.99 through 64.99 for the 2000, and 64-69 for the 4000. 44.95 is a great price for the 2000

Also, it's 2 oz lighter than the 2000. The "newness" of the 4000 may be a reason also. Have you checked eBay for comparos?

I have both the FM2000 and the FM4000. I like the FM4000 better and plan on this being my regular rig for the season. Part of it is the color of the frame and part of it the weight. I have the FM4000 woth navy pads and the FM2000 with black pads. For me the money was not an issue. As in the case with most of us here, I like gear!!!!!

Yes I do. They are a micro fiber but arenot "grabby" on the beard or the stubble. They firm enough without being too hard. They are also treated with an anti microbial.

I'm curious if I pick up the FM2000 or 4000 if the Team Wendy pads will fit this mask (most concerned about the forehead pad)

Yes. I have performed a test fit a pair of Wilson Wrap arounds to this frame for someone else on this board. The Team Wendy's pads will fit too.

I don't like the look so I did not get one. I spent $6 on a plain black plastic one and called it a day.
