So I emailed with Erickp (The OP author) and he said he called CDP and they told him that if they did not bring an Umpire it would cost them an extra $400-$500.

So why would any team go through the hassle of finding an Umpire and pay their way if CDP is doing this?

According to another site, CDP isn't even charging that money to the teams that don't bring one.

I saw that also. I have had a couple of teams contact me and after they find out this information they decide to save the money and not take me.

Just spoke to CDP and they said they will know by next week if they will be providing the ability to not bring an umpire. If they do not provide umpires, we may need one. Is anyone still available and how much? The team is a little strapped for cash as the tournament is costing everyone allot of money already.

That's all I ask for but I know of a few that get a lot more.

Your room and board at CDP doesn't cost the team anything.

They just need to get you there.

I don't think they know, but that's great news for them. For some reason, I thought they had to pay something to CDP for the umpire. If it's just the cost of my flight, then it should only be about $35-50 per family. Thanks for the info (you too, Lou).

From what I understand, that cost to CDP is only if they don't bring an umpire.
