Well, chalk this thread up as directly helping me avoid a bad call tonight. I was BU on a Sr. LL game tonight and the VT tried this out of a mound visit. I didn't play along...

Coach wasn't too happy, but oh well... For a newer umpire like myself, it felt pretty daggone good to come up 100% confident on a tricky situation. Thanks guys!

That's one of the best things about boards like this, many times you will know wha to do before it blows up on you. Sometimes we have to get it after the fact but if we can help new guys get it right then it's all worth it.

I think that's the point of the question. Since the AC was at the plate meeting, he's the manager until HC shows up.

So be glad you didn't dump him "because he was the AC and arguing".
